Grant Park Course Records
With another nice day for racing, the kids had their best race of the season.
We had 11 runners establish new PR's. The hard work the kids put in this season has paid off. It was a great to see the kids race so well.
MiaTorres's time of 20:36 was not only a PR, but it is the 7th fastest 5k in school history.
The JV teams will compete for the last time this season at the Rocket JV Invitational in Grant Park on Thursday, October 23. The first race is scheduled for 3:00 pm
The Varsity Teams will compete in the WIAA Sectional Championships on Saturday, October 25 in Jackson Park in Milwaukee. 12 teams will be running in this meet. The first two teams and the next 5 individuals not on those teams will qualify for the State Meet on Saturday, November 1 in Wisconsin Rapids.

uThe Janesville Midwest Invitational turned out to be a very good meet for most of our team. Because of several athletes being sick, we were not able to field a full team for any of the races on Saturday.
Junior Luke Strasser continued a very good season finishing 52nd out of 358 runners with a PR of 16:32. He is very close to running a time that will be in the Top 10 of all times. On the JV level, Sophomore Easton Nowak finished 24th out of 447 runners tying his PR of 20:30.
Freshmen Valentina Marini continued to lower her time by placing 39th out of 305 runners with a new PR of 19:49. This time is the 2nd fastest in school history. June Lesinski is having a very good senior season by establishing another PR of 20:37 finishing 70 place in the same race. June's new time puts her number 6 all-time.
We are looking forward to competing at the Cudahy Purgold Invitational next Saturday, October 5 in Sheridan Park. We hope SM fans will turn out to support our hard working runners.
